Chapter 4-7
-i´m chatting like a magpie .(glad)
-and you start fluttering like you´re frightened too (skrämd)
-and you don´t catch me grassing on him for maintenance . (gripande)och (försvarande)
-she lives on this big council astate. (egendom)
-i´m miserable as anything inside . (bedrövligt)
- cheeky buggers .(ha tidelag)
-kitty says shifting her bottom crossly. (kraftig)
- i say and she purses up like she´s sucking lemons. (dra ihop)
-then she starts on about fraudulent statements and that. (bedräglig)
-and she´s wearing this butterup yellow smock (fjäska för) och (skyddsrock)
-maybe they´ll still twig . (förstå)
-his pale tongue licks the envelope and thumps it with his first. (hölje) och (dunka,slå)
-and the blue spectacles are all glimmery.(glasögon) och (skymt)
"only you can decide " she says
" I have " i say and my voice goes all breathy because suddenly i think she´s going to make me keep it and i´m scared silly. and now there´s this third voice in my head..

Don't forget to comment on the quote as well - what does the quote tell you as a reader?

Estate with an "e"

"cheeky buggers" is a slang expression meaning: "fräcka typer" roughly

"crossly" means "angrily". to be cross means to be angry in British English.

An envelope is also "kuvert" that you use for letters
