Today we talked about TV shows like Super Nanny. The purpose of those shows is to help families plan their daily routines better and in many cases tips and ideas of how to "discipline" a child are given on these shows.

Here is the American website for the show Super Nanny: http://www.supernanny.com/ Like I said in class these shows have been criticized for using both old-fashioned and cruel methods of discipline and their methods have been criticized in England as well as in Sweden. We read two articles on smacking and tried to find the main ideas of their reasoning. We discussed the arguments raised in the articles. We will continue working on how to write an effective argumentative text on Tuesday.
