Someone Else's Baby: Reading schedule and tasks Thursday, November 20, 2008

The novel Someone Else's Baby by Geraldine Kaye is a fairly easy read. There are 14 chapters in the book and you need to finish reading the whole novel by Wednesday, December 17, when there will be an in-class test.


Here is the reading schedule for you:
Chapter 1-3 by November 27
Chapter 4-7 by December 4
Chapter 8-11 by December 11
Chapter 12-14 by December 15


On each of these four dates you need to post your own personal word list to the chapters you have read. The word list should contain words that you have looked up and that you find important to learn. I want you to write the whole sentence in which the word occurs, like this:
This is my diary about how it was (dagbok).

Here is a link to Lexin which is an online dictionary that you can use (I noticed that some of you were using it the other day).


Along with your word list, I want you to post at least one quote from the chapters you have read that caught your attention somehow. Type the quote in your post and explain why you picked it and what it tells you.


On December 17 there will be an in-class test on the novel. You will be tested on words and expressions as well as on the content of the book.
